Easter

Hunter and I actually got to host Easter this year!  It was great to have the family come our way for a holiday, and we really enjoyed it.

Dad preached at church that morning and my brother-in-law Aaron led singing--great service.  Then we were all able to come back to the house and enjoy a meal, egg hunt, and some swimming together.  The kids were precious all dressed up and then again playing.

I had a few little mishaps surrounding this holiday:
1.  Earlier that week, I had gone to the mall to get AJ an easter dress and try to find one for my niece as well.  I was able to find both of them one, only to have them fall out of the stroller in the parking lot when I folded it up.  I didn't realize until I was leaving Walmart a good 30-45 minutes later.  By then, there was no trace of them...  So I had to go back the next day, buy AJ's dress again, and look for K another one (the one I had gotten was the only one in her size, of course).  But the second dress I got for K was even cuter than the first.
2.  I had made crawfish soup ahead of time so that it would just need to be heated up on Sunday afternoon.  Well, it's a dish that scorches really easily.  I popped it out of the fridge, put it on the stove, and out of sheer habit, turned the burners on high.  We went outside to take family pictures and it didn't even register that I had turned the stove on, much less on high.  Needless to say, it scorched--and it scorched itself good.  Thankfully one of the pots was a higher grade material and the soup in it was salvageable.  The batch in the cheap pot--well, let's just say it tasted like charcoal.  And the pot was ruined too.  What a way to start lunch as a hostess...

But I had my family there, and more importantly I have a risen Savior to serve.  It was a great day.

Celebrate your family, but most of all celebrate our risen and living Savior!  Hope your Easter was as happy as ours

There in the ground His body lay, Light of the world by darkness slain. Then bursting forth in glorious day, up from the grave He rose again! And as He stands in victory, sin's curse has lost it's grip on me! For I am His, and He is mine! I'm bought with the precious blood of Christ!
